Located in East side of Tokyo, in a calm street near Asakusa, Étape is a modern french cuisine restaurant.
The food is french cuisine based, elaborated with local japanese ingredients and delicacies. We care to serve best quality dishes, may it be simple or complex, We thrive to make it a refined experience.
With only one counter and one table, you can get a close contact experience with the process of cuisine, like a chef's table. Intimate, and together, we share one of the most important part of the day: restoring oneself.
About the chef
The chef Shinji Kawamura starts his career at Rihga Royal Hotel french restaurant in Osaka. He then goes to France to learn the skills and absorb the french spirit of cuisine. After 8 years working in different establishment, included star-michelin restaurant (Taillevent, Qui Plume La Lune...), he mades his way back to Japan. In 2021, amid covid pandemic, he opens his first restaurant where he serves his dishes with generosity and sincerity.
